Hello, welcome back! Today we will create the torches that will light up the dungeon we have been working on till now. Every ominous dungeon has some torches, giving it its ambiance. The warm orange glow of the blame brings an intensity you didn't know was there. This project is also excellent training on learning the versatility of the light system on Blender. I have been in awe every time I have seen the lighting in any cyberpunk-ish project done by another creator, it's what inspired me in the first place. This might seem like a small task, but its effects are plenty. Let's start!
The first thing we need to work on is the stick or rather the cone that will hold the ball of flame. a cylinder is not enough to contribute to this project, so I have decided to create one of those old torches, the one whose flame is held up by a metal cone with an interesting pattern. To begin, I opened Blender and selected the default cube. Scaling it along the Z-axis, I elongated the cube to resemble the shape of a stick. Next, I added a cylinder primitive and scaled it down to create the metal cone that holds the flame. Using the loop cut tool, I added several horizontal loop cuts to the cone, giving it an intriguing pattern.
For the flame itself, I created a sphere and applied a vibrant orange color with a subtle gradient to simulate the flickering effect. for a greater flame look, I added some tips and flying fale particles. With the stick, cone, and flame in place, I positioned the torch at the desired location within the dungeon scene. This simple yet crucial element brings life to the dimly lit dungeon, adding an eerie atmosphere that captivates the viewer.
In conclusion, creating torches for our dungeon scene in Blender has been a rewarding experience. The warm, orange glow of the flame adds a captivating intensity that enhances the overall ambiance. Through this project, we have explored the versatility of Blender's lighting system and discovered the power of manipulating various shapes and materials to bring our vision to life. Even though torches may seem like a small detail, their effects are significant in setting the tone and atmosphere of the scene. As we continue our creative journey, let us remember the importance of these seemingly minor elements in making our projects truly immersive and memorable.
